The Senior Adult Ministry, for adults age 55 and better, is an active, vibrant part of the Main Street family. There are many ways to get involved!
The Senior Adult Ministry Team consists of Ray and Jean Young, Harold and Melinda Eidson, Fred and Lois Wilson, Judy Christianson, Delores Baldwin, Don Gurney, and Evelyn Mcvey. This team strives to keep a close ‘watch care’ over our Senior adults through visits, calls and cards. The 1st and 2nd grade elementary Sunday school class also does special quarterly projects to send to our homebound Seniors. We also love to work with the youth ministry to do service projects such as yard work and house renovation. Additionally, the team brings the Lord’s Supper to our homebound Seniors on a quarterly basis.
For those of our more active older adults, we have monthly times of fellowship. Some of our events include: delicious luncheons, invigorating and informative speakers, game days, and exciting day trips (sometimes overnighters!) Every December we have a catered dinner, where the staff serve and lead worship, and we go Christmas caroling to the homebound. Another favorite event is the sponsored Birthday party for the Wesleyan Nursing Home residents. A special highlight of these 3 events is Ray Young and his harmonica rendition of Silent Night.
We enjoy being part of the Main Street Family and welcome the opportunity to interact with all the generations represented at Main Street Baptist Church! We’d love to see you soon!
